I’m Phoebe, a newborn, baby and family photographer based in Ickwell, Bedfordshire, and I’ve created these sessions for families looking for a simple and timeless way to celebrate one of those really special milestones — their baby turning one.
After photographing so many little ones throughout their first year, I know just how quickly that tiny newborn becomes a crawling, standing, giggling little person with a huge personality of their own.
My 1st Birthday Sessions are all about capturing exactly that.
No pressure for them to perform, no expectation for them to sit perfectly and smile, and no real cake required. Just a relaxed session filled with beautiful portraits that capture your little one exactly as they are at one.

My 1st Birthday Sessions are all about capturing the little person your baby has become during their first year. The smiles, expressions, wobbly standing, crawling, cuddles and all those tiny details that feel so completely them right now.
No big themes. No real cake required.
Just beautiful portraits of your baby at one.

It’s hard to believe the tiny baby you brought home is now almost one.
By their first birthday, their personality has well and truly arrived. They’re clapping, waving, crawling, standing, perhaps taking those first little steps and making sure you know exactly what they do and don’t want!
My 1st Birthday Sessions are a chance to slow everything down for a moment and capture this stage before it changes again.
These sessions are relaxed, baby-led and portrait-focused, with simple styling that keeps the attention exactly where it should be on them.
What to expect
Your session takes place at my home studio in Ickwell, Bedfordshire and is completely led by your little one.
We’ll work through a small selection of simple setups, allowing plenty of time for them to settle, explore and show off that personality.
There’s no expectation for your baby to sit perfectly and smile at the camera. If they’re crawling, we’ll let them crawl. If they’re standing, we’ll capture those wobbly little legs. And if they just want a cuddle for five minutes, that’s absolutely fine too.
Parents and siblings are welcome to be included, giving you a beautiful mixture of individual portraits and photographs together.
Because their first birthday is a milestone for you too.
Pricing
£199
Step One: £49.00 is payable within 48 hours of booking to secure your slot.
Step Two: The remaining balance of £150.00 is due on your session date.
Included in this cost is 15 high resolution digital files of you’ve choice you will select these after you’ve session from an online gallery. Where you will view your images in both colour and black/white. You will view a minimum of 20-30 images.
Keeping things simple.
The beauty of these sessions is in their simplicity.
Think soft textures, neutral colours, little knits, dungarees, bloomers and simple dresses — outfits that allow your baby’s personality to be the focus of the photographs.
You don’t need to buy something especially for your session either. Sometimes the outfit you already love seeing them in becomes even more special when it’s captured in their first birthday photographs.
Once you’re booked, I’ll help you with styling so everything works beautifully together.

FAQ’s
Does my baby need to be walking?
Not at all! There’s no milestone your baby needs to have reached before their session. Sitting, crawling, standing or walking we capture them exactly as they are.
Does the session have to be on their first birthday?
No. Sessions can take place around their birthday at a date that works best for you and your little one.
Is cake included?
My 1st Birthday Sessions are designed as a cake-free, portrait-led alternative to a Cake Smash, so a cake isn't included or required.
Can siblings be included?
Absolutely. Parents and siblings are very welcome to be part of the session.
What should we bring?
Once you’re booked, you’ll receive all the information you need to prepare, including outfit and styling guidance.
Can we purchase more than the 15 included photographs?
Yes. You’ll receive a proof gallery after your session to choose your 15 included images, with the option to purchase additional photographs if you fall in love with more.
